At the DTC Fingerprinting Services Inc. office, we offer the services of digital and roll fingerprints using our LiveScan machine. Using this inkless scanner in collaboration with our computer system, allows us to provide our clients with clean and quality fingerprints.

Digital fingerprinting is required to complete a criminal background check for the following:

  • Adoptions

  • All Non-criminal Purposes

  • Citizenship

  • Employment (Federal, Provincial, Private)

  • Foreign Travel

  • Work Permit Abroad

  • Government Department for Contractors and Licenses

  • US Waiver

Provided Fingerprint Form/Card

RCMP C-216 Form/Card

The RCMP C-216 form is the Canadian form that is used for fingerprinting. This is the form that is provided to clients with the use of our digital system. Your fingerprints will be taken with the use of our digital inkless scanner, then the fingerprints will be printed on to this form automatically. 

The C-216 form is used when countries require physical, paper-based fingerprints for a criminal background check.

The form will be provided by us but will have to be mailed to the country of choice by the client.

Upon Arrival

Identification is required for your first RCMP fingerprinting appointment at our Mississauga office. Please provide us with any two (2) of the following pieces of identification:

  • Passport

  • Driver’s License

  • Canadian Citizenship Card

  • Permanent Resident (PR) Card

  • Ontario Identification Card

  • Immigration Documents

  • Certificate of Indian Status

  • Military ID Card

  • Firearm Acquisition Certificate

Health Card (OHIP), is NOT accepted as a form of ID as per RCMP regulations.

Who do I contact regarding the status of my fingerprints with RCMP?

CCRTIS processes applications in the order they are received. If your application is taking longer than the time indicated on the RCMP website, you can call RCMP AT 613-998-6362 OR send an email to with the following information:

  • Full name

  • Date of birth

  • Phone number

  • Document control number (DCN) (if applicable)

  • The date the application was submitted to RCMP

  • The type of application you submitted - (Criminal Record check for...)

Unfortunately, DTC Fingerprinting Services Inc. does not receive any tracking information for applications. This means that once the fingerprints have been submitted from our office, RCMP handles the application.
